World Wildlife Fund, a non-profit organization based out of Washington DC and a long-time Mavenspire customer, has been selected as one of Computer World's top 12 green technology user companies.

WWF, working in conjunction with Mavenspire, Inc., has implemented cutting-edge technology to reduce energy usage and increase efficiency. They have increased their global presence without increasing energy consumption. Increased global presence has allowed them to forward their mission to save and protect nature. These technologies have also ensured that WWF may continue to grow without increasing the technology resources being used. WWF's long-standing policies of seeking environmentally friendly technology has led to their being named by ComputerWorld as one of the top 12 Green-IT companies in the world.

Mavenspire moved WWF to SAN storage and combined it with virtualization, better networking, and improved remote access services for remote locations and mobile users. These technologies allow increased performance while reducing the overall technology footprint, reducing cooling needs as well as initial power consumption.

For more than 45 years, WWF has been protecting the future of nature. The largest multinational conservation organization in the world, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally.

WWF's mission is the conservation of nature. Using the best available scientific knowledge and advancing that knowledge where they can, they work to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems by:

  • Protecting natural areas and wild populations of plants and animals, including endangered species;
  • Promoting sustainable approaches to the use of renewable natural resources;
  • Promoting more efficient use of resources and energy and the maximum reduction of pollution. WWF is committed to reversing the degradation of our planet's natural environment and to building a future in which human needs are met in harmony with nature.
