Gazette of Politics and Business 25 CEOs You Need to Know BadgeHANOVER, MD - The Gazette of Politics & Business, a weekly publication focusing on political and business news throughout Maryland, recently named Mavenspire President, Michael Tanenhaus, in its annual list of the “25 CEOs You Need To Know" for 2009.

Part of the Community Newspaper Group of Post-Newsweek Media Inc., a division of The Washington Post Company, The Gazette has been publishing weekly newspapers in the Maryland suburbs since 1959. The Gazette of Business & Politics is one of 35 publications of The Gazette.

The publication asks economic development offices and prior award recipients from around the state to nominate the first CEOs who come to mind; the kind of CEOs who know how to execute their strategy, the kind of CEOs who can inspire others to follow their vision, the kind of CEOs you need to know!

Mr. Tanenhaus was nominated by Viable, a next-generation video relay services for deaf and hard of hearing persons that can be accessed wherever there is Internet or wireless connectivity,  whose President, John T.C. Yeh, was a 2008 recipient of the same award.

Mr. Tanenhaus said, “We had no idea that Viable would nominate us for this year's awards, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm happy that we have the kind of relationship with Viable that they wanted to nominate us for this.”

As there was no ceremony in 2008, the recipients received their physical awards this year. Tanenhaus and Yeh received their awards in the same ceremony on April 23rd, 2009 at the Bethesda Theater in Bethesda, MD.

When asked what advice Tanenhaus would give to new CEOs he said, "You have to know which battles to fight and where to focus your energy."

The full list of recipients, as well as Mr. Tanenhaus' CEO profile can be found at http://www.gazette.net/business. Mr. Tanenhaus' profile is on page 22 of the PDF.
